Alpha

Alpha is coming!! Have you lost hope? Do you wonder if there is more to life than this? Want to learn more about Christianity? Want to meet others and be a part of a small group? Then you want Alpha! You are invited to come check out the Alpha Course at the Introductory Dinner on January 14, 2010. If you decide you want to continue, then you will sign up that night for the entire 10 week course which ends on March 25. Each week we will have a scrumptious meal, video and discussion. Ladies Bible Studies

Tuesday mornings beginning Jan. 12th , 9:30-11:30am, Lord Teach Me to Pray, a 5 week video study by Kay Arthur offers insights from God's Word on how to pray, what to pray, and what to expect when you pray. This study will be immediately followed by Me Myself & Lies by Jennifer Rothschild, starting Feb 2nd, a 7 week video study that helps us replace our destructive self-talk with godly, biblical self-talk. Wednesday mornings beginning Jan. 13th 9:30 – 11:30 am, Beth Moore's Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit. Study and learn how God develops the Fruits of the Spirit within us, how the Spirit of God lives within us. Wednesday Mornings beginning Jan 20th 9:30 – 11:30 am, Kay Arthur's As Silver Refined, Learning to Embrace Life’s Disappointments. This 12 week study teaches how you “YOU CAN BE DEFEATED by life's unavoidable disappointments, or you can become stronger because of them. Kay Arthur paints a graphic picture of the dangerous downward spiral of disappointment that can lead to discouragement, depression, or even despair. Men’s Studies

We have a group of men who gather faithfully each week for breakfast and Bible study at Bailey's Restaurant in Powder Springs. Allen Richburg leads the discussion each week with discussion focused on scripture. (No registration is necessary for this study)

McEachern Connection Class (formerly the Pastor’s Class)

Dr. Jim Higgins and all of the Pastors want to personally invite you to learn 'Everything you've always wanted to know about McEachern UMC, but didn't know who to ask!' This class will start February 7th, at 9:30 in room F-213. This 5 week class will be offered continuously throughout the year, covering such topics as our basic Christian beliefs, our United Methodist heritage and traditions, our church history, our mission and vision, and most importantly, where YOU can fit in. Whether you have been attending McEachern for 30 days or 30 years, there is something new and interesting for everyone. Marriage and Family

Making Love Last a Lifetime, by Adam Hamilton, on Sunday nights, 5:30 – 7:30 beginning January 10th. This small group video study offering keys to developing a healthy, satisfying and successful marriage, touching on topics such as “What Women Wish Men Knew about Women”, and “What Men Wish Women knew about Men”, and “The Habits of a Unhealthy Marriage”. Financial Peace

Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University
Get on the road to financial peace!! Financial Peace University is a biblically based, video-driven small group study that teaches families to beat debt, build wealth and give like never before!

Financial Peace University will be offered at McEachern UMC beginning in January. To learn more about the program, plan now to attend a Class Preview on either January 3rd at 5:30 pm or January 6th at 6:30 pm in F326 in the Christian Life Center at McEachern UMC. Winter classes will be offered on the following dates:

Sunday evenings 5:30—7:30 pm 1/10/09 to 4/18/10
Wednesday evenings 6:30 – 8:30 pm 1/13/09 to 4/14/10

The cost of the course kit is $93 for each family unit. Couples (married or engaged) are en-couraged to take the class together but it is open to individuals as well.
