God wants us to work. GEN 2:15
"... put him in the Garden of Eden to WORK it ..."

God has blessed each of us with particular strengths (talents). We are to use those to his glory, with faith - not fear, and will be rewarded for our stewardship of his blessings. MATT 25:14-30
