donna@mceachernumc.org
A native
of Mobile, Alabama, Donna grew up on a farm with seven brothers
and sisters. It was in this rural environment that she was
nurtured in the faith with a family history of three generations
of Methodists. After making a commitment of Christ, she began
to feel God's call on her life to full time ministry. With
a commitment to missions and desire to fulfill this call she
began her preparation for ministry.
Donna
is a graduate of Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky with
a degree in Bible and Biblical Languages. (1982) She also
attended Asbury Theological Seminary and obtained her Masters
in Biblical Literature and Languages. (1985) In August of
1985 she went to Kenya, East Africa to work with World Gospel
Missions at the Kenya Highlands Bible College. She served
in Kenya for 10 years as professor of Old Testament Studies.
During her furlough in 1991, she obtained a Masters in Counseling
at the University of South Alabama in Mobile Alabama and returned
to Kenya to also teach pastoral counseling.
In 1995
feeling God's call to return to the United States, Donna became
part of the ministry staff at Forest Hill UMC in Mobile, Alabama.
She served as Director of Christian Education and Programs
at Forest Hill until she left to become part of the ministry
team at McEachern Memorial UMC. She comes to our church with
training in education and counseling, and a strong commitment
to missions.
