Born March
17, 1940 in Rome, Georgia,
Jerry is the oldest of four boys. Growing up in Hapeville,
Georgia, Jerry went on to attend Young
Harris College ('60), La
Grange College ('62), and Candler
School of Theology ('65).
Jerry
was ordained an elder in the North
Georgia Conference ('66) and has served appointments across
the Conference. Jerry also worked several years for the State
of Georgia as a Probation/Parole Officer in downtown Atlanta.
Jerry
and his wife Maryanne join the ministry of McEachern after
having served five years at the First United Methodist Church
of Smyrna, Georgia. Their adult sons are Newton and Phil.
Newton is married to Pam and they have two children, Charlie
and Britt. Phil is married to Ann Marie and they have one
son, Cole.
Jerry
is excited about the ministry which is being lived out at
McEachern and the team of staff persons with whom he is privileged
to serve.
