Older
Adult Ministries
Just
Older Youth (J.O.Y.) is the nickname for the Older
Adult Ministry at McEachern Memorial UMC. It is a ministry
for and with all who have obtained the status of retiree,
even though they might not be fully retired.
Many J.O.Y. participants
enjoy monthly one-day trips to destinations within the North
Georgia area. Whether it is our annual Apple trip to Ellijay,
GA or a visit to downtown Atlanta to a local attraction, we
always have fun as we travel and share a meal.
Macland
Seniors
The Macland Seniors
meets on the first Friday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in Lula
Dobb Hall. This is an outreach of our Older Adult program
in which all adults in the community are invited. We gather
for a great meal and a program provided by people in the community.
Sunday

Older
Adult Appreciation Sunday
Each year, we show
our appreciation to our Older Adults by honoring them with
an appreciation luncheon. Our next luncheon will be May 18,
2008. Watch the bulletin and Vine for more details.
Rejoicing
for Jesus Day
Each Spring, we
offer a day to celebrate Jesus with Older Adults from our
community. This is a fun day with brunch, small group sessions
about various topics, and a lunch followed by entertainment.
We have people here from many different churches so it’s
a great day to have fun and meet new people. The next Rejoicing
for Jesus Day will be May 8, 2008.
Weekly
Activities
Join Susan Roberts
as she leads us in Flexibility Excercises at 10 am in the
Aerobics room in the Christian Life Center.
On Wednesday afternoons
at 4 pm, you can usually find a group gathering in F147 playing
cards and having a great time of fellowship.
