Women's Ministries

The Women’s Ministry at McEachern is a combination of several ministries serving the women of our church and community. We seek to offer ways for women to get connected in our church while growing in their walk with Christ.

Mission/Purpose Statement

In obedience to the command of our Lord and to fulfill the mission statement of this church, we the women of McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church vow to lovingly reach out to women in our church and community by providing Bible studies, Christian fellowship, service and missions that encourage a deep, meaningful, love relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Moms In Touch

Moms In Touch International is a group of dedicated moms who meet once a week to pray specifically for their children and their schools. Here at MMUMC, we currently have groups praying for the following schools:

If your child’s school is not represented, we can see if there is a group praying for your child’s school already or help you form a Moms In Touch Group. Bible Studies

There are several opportunities for studying God’s word available throughout the week with other women. Whether you are just beginning to study the Bible or looking for ways to continue your spiritual growth, you are sure to find other women seeking the same type of study.

All studies involve small group discussion and some include large group video sessions. Currently, most require a 6 – 12 week commitment with 5 reading assignments during the week. These studies meet in the mornings on Tuesdays and Wednesday and evening sessions are available on Sundays. If there is enough interest, Wednesday evening sessions will be offered. Plans are under way to offer other studies in the coming months which are not as demanding of preparation time but still offer good group discussion and sharing. Women’s Retreat

Our women’s retreat is an event planned especially for McEachern women, their friends, family, and members of the community. It is usually held in September and is a “get away” retreat that begins on a Friday night and ends on Sunday.

The 2008 retreat will be September 19-21 in the natural surroundings of Simpsonwood Conference Center in Norcross, GA. This year’s theme is Fan the Flame . . . a Journey from Self to Servant. Total ticket price is $199.00 (double occupancy, including meals and retreat registration). The popular early bird special ($189.00) will be available through the end of May. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

MOPS provides encouragement, support, teaching and friendship for mothers with a child 5 years of age and under. In these relationships moms find answers for their simple, everyday dilemmas and discover a safe place to explore the deeper principles needed for life building. MOPS nurtures moms and therefore, MOPS can make a difference in the lives of the families of those moms.

We have lots of fun, food, and crafts plus structured childcare.

Ladies Night Out

Twice a year we offer a special night just for the ladies of our church and community. The goal is to provide a relaxing evening with a wonderful meal, great music and an inspirational message geared just for women. It is an incredible opportunity to fellowship with other Christian women and have your heart renewed.

Quilting Group

Once a month, a group of ladies meet to work on a quilt that will be donated to a charity. This is a great time of Christian fellowship where your quilting skills can be put to good use! If you are interested in being a part of this group, you may contact Linda Galloway at ext. 6036.
