Children’s Ministries

The Children’s Ministry at McEachern Memorial UMC is dedicated to serving and ministering to the children and families of this community. We believe children are important in God’s kingdom and are to be welcomed in His church.

It is our prayer to nurture each child into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to be in partnership with families in guiding children and equipping parents in teaching their children to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Children have many opportunities to participate in programs and activities where they can feel God’s love and presence. It is our prayer that these programs will help guide and support families in their faith journey.

Wonderfully Made

McEachern Memorial UMC will host a faith and sexuality education program entitled Wonderfully Made for 5th & 6th graders and their parents/primary caregivers.

You and your 5th or 6th grade son or daughter are invited to participate in a special event called Wonderfully Made. Young people this age are growing physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially at a rapid pace, or are agonizing over why they aren’t growing as rapidly as they feel they should be. Open only to children in the 5th and 6th grade, Wonderfully Made is a study of human sexuality with a Christian foundation. It will offer both you and your child an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the fact that we have each been wonderfully made by God, and are called to responsible living as sexual beings.

The course was originally called Created By God. Updates in the program include time for reflection and ways to incorporate learning into the lives of students, as well as a strengthened spiritual component.

Sunday Mornings

9:30 Sunday School

Children begin each Sunday with an engaging large group time of worship and discovery based upon the Bible lesson of the day before moving to small group study for a deeper dive. Wacky science experiments, skits, songs, videos, games and fun activities await – join us this week and see for yourself!

11:00 Family Worship and Mission Moments

Families are encouraged to worship together in our 11:00 am Traditional Worship service. Children learn to participate in corporate worship, enjoy a Children’s Moment, and are then dismissed to the Treehouse for a weekly mission project. Mission projects include such things as writing notes to shut-ins, packing food for a shelter, wrapping silverware for Must Ministries, making cards for those who are sick, or creating gift bags for visitors to our church. These opportunities are aimed at creating servant hearts in our Children, teaching them to serve others as they grow and mature in their faith.

Sunday School class 9:30 am – 12:00 pm in room F133

All special needs children and adults are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings for Bible lessons, crafts, and much more. Our classroom in the newly renovated Treehouse is wheelchair accessible and set up with our children in mind. We purposely make our class flexible to accommodate each child’s individual needs.
