This music ministry scholarship fund was established in 2008 by the Sanctuary Choir to aid and encourage church members to further their education. It was named after Tanya Ghoreishi, the Minister of Music at that time. The choir wished to honor her contribution to the ministry of McEachern Memorial U.M.C. The scholarship will be awarded this year to a high school senior who is headed to an accredited college or technical/vocational school. You do not need to be pursuing a degree in the arts to apply for or receive this scholarship. It is subject to the following regulations:
- Candidate must have been a member of McEachern Memorial UMC for a minimum of two years.
- Candidate should be an active member during those two years.
- Candidate should be in good standing with their current high school with regular attendance.
- Candidate must complete the application form and, if requested, be willing to appear before the selection committee.
- Scholarship money is paid directly to the educational institution to be applied to the student’s tuition account.
- The music team will review the applications and determine the recipient of the scholarship.
- Changes to the above requirements must be approved by the music team.
A copy of these regulations shall be kept on file in the church business office.
