Women’s Wednesday Morning Bible
Study Begins August 17
Join us for The Magnificent Obsession; Embracing the God-Filled Life by Anne Graham Lotz beginning Wednesday, August 17, 9:30-11:30 AM. This is a video-led, 7-session study that includes 5 daily Scriptures to explore each week. Most of our in-depth studies are typically video-led, running 6-10 weeks and include five optional daily lessons for home study each week. Our discussion time is lively, spirit-filled and encouraging. Women are welcome to sit in on one or more of our classes to get acquainted with the group. Missions
Local Team Mentoring Opportunity
Teach One to Lead One is an International mentoring program that partners volunteer mentor teams (4-5 caring adults per team) with students in classrooms to teach Universal Principles. MMUMC will partner to reach all 300 Tapp Middle School 7th graders this Fall! We use the powerful T1L1 curriculum to bring to life universal ethical principles and their application to everyday teen life: Respect, Integrity, Self-Control, Compassion, Courage, Teamwork, Excellence, Humility, Enthusiasm and Honor. Using the provided curriculum trained Mentors guide discussions of video clips, facilitate games to highlight the principle of the day, lead large group discussions, organize role-playing activities, then debrief how to live it out with student small groups. Do you, or someone you know, have and hour every Tuesday August - December to serve on a team? It is easier than you think and more rewarding than you imagine. Elementary School Personal Mentors Needed
Kids Hope is a national mentoring program that partners volunteer personal mentors with kids in an elementary school who would benefit from this 1:1 consistent relationship during the school year. MMUMC is privileged to partner with Compton Elementary School. The mentoring commitment is for one hour per week September through May during school hours on a day that works for you. Complete training is provided. Compton says that they have 40 kids that need mentors and a mentor is needed for each of these kids. We have not been able to mentor for the last 2 years and are excited to be back in the school. You will develop an encouraging friendship with a child and help him/her succeed in their school environment. It is easier than you think and more rewarding than you can imagine. Student Ministry
2022-2023 Student Ministry Calendar
McEachern Student Ministry is excited about all that we have planned for 2022-2023.
Our two weekly meetings are RENEW on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45 AM and MidWeek on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Each month we have a fun outing to invest in our students and to build community within our ministry like Axe Throwing, Cornhole Tournament, Six Flags, Friendsgiving, Movie Night, and Ikea Scavenger Hunt.
We also have four retreats scheduled where our students get to pull away from their normal routine and focus on their relationship with Christ.
We also have plans for the summer of 2023 that are TBD, so make sure that you stay up-to-date on all our activities and events at www.mceachernumc.org/student.
RENEW
Every Sunday morning from 9:30-10:45 AM in the Youth Suite (F329) on the third floor of the CLC/Gym. RENEW is open to all 6th-12th grade students. Each morning we dive into a new Scripture passage and discuss how the Bible and our daily lives intersect. Come and be renewed in your spirit as we learn from one another and God' s guidance. We also have donuts!
MidWeek
On Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Youth Suite (F329) on the third floor of the CLC/Gym. MidWeek is open to all 6th-12th grade students. Join us for dinner, games, worship, large group message, and small group discussions. Each week we focus on building relationships with each other, growing in our faith, and how we can serve our community.
Axe Throwing
Axe Throwing is on August 21 from 3:30-5:30 PM. Drop off and pick up from the Youth Suite (F329) on the third floor of the CLC/Gym. This event is open to all students who are 12 years old and older. Cost for this event is $15. You can register for this event at www.mceachernumc.org/student.
Recreation Ministry
Fall Soccer Season
We are now registering for our Fall Soccer Season. The season will begin August 29th and run through October 30th. The season has 8 games mostly on Saturdays but you might end up with a couple games during the week. Registration will be open through August 14th. The cost is $145. Our league is open to boys and girls ages 4 years to 8th grade. Practices will be once a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays for 1 hour.
Our 3 year old league (boys and girls) will have a 30 minute practice and a 30 minute game on Saturdays. The cost is $100.
There is a $10 sibling discount and a $35 head coach discount offered as well.
NEW UNIFORMS THIS FALL! It is that time that we get a new design for our jerseys. You will still get two jerseys, black shorts and black socks. There is a place to click if you do not need shorts or socks. Shorts MUST NOT have pockets.

Nursery
Parents' Time Away
Tuesday and Wednesdays 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. 6 Weeks through Preschool. Sign up once, as needed or by the day/week/month/school year. $30 1st child, $25 2nd child, $20 each additional child. One-time registration fee of $20 per family. Cost for this event is $15.
