The focus of our Sports & Fitness Ministry at McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church is best defined by II Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Emphasis is placed on Christ-likeness. Our Ministry seeks to strengthen adults, children and their families by maximizing ministry opportunities through exposing participants to Scripture-based devotions during each program.
We play a 10 game season with a single elimination post-season tournament. Leagues offered: Men’s and Co-Ed Leagues. Teams form periodically. Registration is in January/February for spring and July for the fall season. Cost is $35 per person or $400 per team. Games are played on Saturday. Registration fee and roster due at time of registration. Minimum of 6 teams to make a league.

Teams form in the fall. Registration begins in September. Season will begin in mid October and run thru late December or mid January. The cost to play is $35 per individual or $250 per team. Teams are co-ed and must consist of a minimum of 6 players.

Our Fitness Room is open for use by our members as well as the community. The Weight Room has Hoist weight machines and a complete set of dumbbells and weight benches for strength development. The Cardio Center is fully equipped with 3 treadmills and a recumbent bike. We have personal trainers to assist you, by appointment, in forming a program specifically for you and to show you how to use the exercise equipment safely.

Note: You will need to complete a Health Assessment Form and turn in to the Recreation Ministry dropbox if you have not completed one previously. To use the Fitness Room, you must be 14 years old or above. Anyone 13 or younger cannot enter weight room, even with an adult. You must join the Fitness Center to obtain a key Card to enter the Fitness Room. Please use a towel to wipe off machines when wearing shorts. Spray bottles of cleaning solution are available for your use in wiping off the machines.
It’s a Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, dance fitness-party. Feel the music and let loose!

Attire: Comfortable, workout type clothing, water, and towel
Cost: $6 drop-in rate or $50 for 10 classes. Come join us – first class is BOGO free! Bring a friend and it’s $6 for you both or pay $6 for yourself and your next class is free!

Establishing a walking routine isn’t difficult here at McEachern UMC! We offer an indoor walking track located on the 3rd floor of our beautiful Christian Life Center. Walking is a great way to burn calories, stimulate blood circulation and lower cholesterol levels.
The walking track is open during the following times:
Monday-Saturday: 6AM – 9PM
Sunday: 1PM – 9PM
Info: 14 laps is equal to 1 mile
The walking track is open to anyone who would like to come out and get some exercise. Don’t let cold weather, rain, or extreme summer heat keep you from the benefits of walking!
Cardio is one of the most important things you can do for your body, whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or improve your health. Pilates and Yoga help you gain muscle control, increase flexibility, and develop long lean muscles. Workout at your own pace and improve your cardio-vascular system while having fun and enjoying the fellowship with other members.
