The focus of our Sports & Fitness Ministry at McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church is best defined by II Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Emphasis is placed on Christ-likeness. Our Ministry seeks to strengthen adults, children and their families by maximizing ministry opportunities through exposing participants to Scripture-based devotions during each program.
The Fitness Center is now open!
The fitness center and walking track are open from 6 am – 9 pm Monday – Saturday, and 1 pm – 9 pm Sunday.

Adult Programs
Come out and join us for some fun! We have Pickleball that meets three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:15-3:15 PM. We meet in the gym. Don’t have a paddle? No worries! We have extras in the closet. Please contact Lisa Kirk at 770.943.3008 ext 6017 for more details.
We play a 10 game season with a single elimination post-season tournament. Leagues offered: Men’s and Co-Ed Leagues. Teams form periodically. Registration is in January/February for spring and July for the fall season. Cost is $35 per person or $350 per team. Games are played on Saturday. Registration fee and roster due at time of registration. Minimum of 6 teams to make a league.

Our Fitness Room is open for use by our members as well as the community. The Weight Room has Hoist weight machines and a complete set of dumbbells and weight benches for strength development. The Cardio Center is fully equipped with 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, and a recumbent bike. We have personal trainers to assist you, by appointment, in forming a program specifically for you and to show you how to use the exercise equipment safely.

Note: You will need to complete a Health Assessment Form and turn in to the Recreation Ministry dropbox if you have not completed one previously. To use the Fitness Room, you must be 14 years old or above. Anyone 13 or younger cannot enter weight room, even with an adult. You must join the Fitness Center to obtain a key Card to enter the Fitness Room. Please use a towel to wipe off machines when wearing shorts. Spray bottles of cleaning solution are available for your use in wiping off the machines.
Establishing a walking routine isn’t difficult here at McEachern UMC! We offer an indoor walking track located on the 3rd floor of our beautiful Christian Life Center. Walking is a great way to burn calories, stimulate blood circulation and lower cholesterol levels.
The walking track is open during the following times:
Monday-Saturday: 6:00 am – 9:00 pm
Sunday: 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Info: 14 laps is equal to 1 mile
The walking track is open to anyone who would like to come out and get some exercise. Don’t let cold weather, rain, or extreme summer heat keep you from the benefits of walking!

The season will begin at the beginning of December and run through the end of February. The season has 7 games on Fridays and/or Saturdays. Registration is open and the cost is $145. Our league is open to boys and girls ages 4 years to 8th grade. Practices will be once a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays for 1 hour.
There is a $10 sibling discount and a $75 head coach discount offered as well.

- Equal playing time for every player
- A one-hour practice and game each week of the season
- An evaluation process to provide equal opportunity for improvement
- Each player signs up as an individual, not as a group or team
- Separate leagues for boys and girls
Every player will receive:
- Upward Basketball reversible jersey
- Upward Basketball t-shirt
- Upward Basketball car magnet
- Individual awards after each practice and game
- End of the season award

Registration is open and the cost is $100. Our league is open to boys and girls ages 3rd grade through 8th grade.

Lisa O’Sullivan directs the dance program at McEachern UMC. Her goal is to offer quality dance instruction with an emphasis on Christian principals. Classes designed for ages 3 – adult.
